Rotary voice coil actuators (RVCAs) are precision limited-angle motors designed for applications requiring smooth, high-acceleration angular motion (typically under 60°). Built with an arc-segmented multipole permanent magnet stator and a low-inertia moving coil rotor, these actuators require no commutation and produce zero cogging or torque ripple. The result is exceptionally smooth, backlash-free motion with a linear torque-to-current relationship that simplifies servo control integration.
